Job Summary
The Sales & Marketing Project Manager is a cross-functional project leader responsible for translating business priorities into executable plans and driving strategic initiatives from concept through completion. This role combines disciplined project management with business acumen, analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and process improvement. The Project Manager works across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, Creative/Packaging, and other business functions to establish priorities, coordinate resources, manage dependencies, resolve obstacles, and maintain accountability. The successful candidate is expected to operate with appropriate independence, identify gaps and risks, evaluate alternatives, constructively question assumptions, and bring forward practical recommendations rather than simply track tasks. The role requires the ability to manage detail while maintaining a clear view of broader business objectives and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, Operations, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Four or more years of progressive experience in project management, business operations, commercialization, marketing operations, sales operations, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent, cross-functional projects with competing priorities and dependencies.
- Experience supporting Sales and Marketing organizations; experience in consumer products, CPG, manufacturing, food/pet products, retail, or distribution is preferred.
- Strong business judgment, analytical thinking, critical thinking, and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with general direction, independently gather information, evaluate options, and recommend a path forward on matters of significance.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, time-management, and follow-through skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, meeting-facilitation, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both working teams and executive leadership.
- Ability to influence, drive accountability, and build alignment across functions without relying on direct authority.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and experience with project/workflow management platforms.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is preferred. Familiarity with workflow automation, AI-enabled productivity tools, or emerging business technology is a plus.
- PMP or other relevant project-management certification is preferred but not required.

- Partner with the Director of Business Development to track team priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional dependencies, proactively identifying and resolving workload conflicts.
- Create clarity around ownership, decision-making, responsibilities, and next steps when projects involve multiple stakeholders or competing priorities.
- Drive accountability professionally and constructively while maintaining productive working relationships across departments and levels of the organization.
- Handle confidential, customer-sensitive, and commercially sensitive information in accordance with company policy and business requirements.
Reporting, Analytics, Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Prepare concise project dashboards and executive-level status reports that communicate progress, risks, decisions, required actions, and business impact.
- Analyze project outcomes, budgets, expenditures, KPIs, and available business data to identify trends, performance gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop standardized project-management processes, templates, playbooks, and workflow controls that improve consistency and visibility.
- Map and evaluate existing processes to identify bottlenecks, duplicate work, unnecessary complexity, communication gaps, and root causes of recurring issues.
- Recommend and help implement practical process improvements that increase speed, accountability, accuracy, scalability, or collaboration.
- Evaluate appropriate project-management tools, reporting solutions, workflow automation, and AI-enabled productivity tools that may improve business efficiency, while considering accuracy, confidentiality, security, and company policy.
- Measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements and adjust processes when results do not meet the intended business objective.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position is primarily an on-site/in-office role and routinely requires the use of a computer and standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, trade shows, company events, or other business needs.
